SuccessionKeeper is a private, encrypted digital vault that records where your accounts, pensions, and assets are held so your family knows where to look when you can no longer tell them.
What is SuccessionKeeper?
SuccessionKeeper is a UK-hosted, AES-256-encrypted vault where you store structured summaries of your financial accounts, pensions, properties, insurance policies, and digital assets — without sharing login credentials. You describe where things are (provider names, account numbers, policy references) and optionally attach documents. If you stop responding to periodic check-ins, your nominated contact receives a carefully timed notification sequence before any data is released. The service was built by finance and technology professionals Peter Vulchev (formerly BlackRock, Apollo, Lone Star Funds) and Deyan Nenov (whose consultancy has served Amazon and Autodesk).
Key Features
- Encrypted vault — All data stored on Google Cloud infrastructure in the UK, encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). UK GDPR compliant and penetration tested.
- Wellbeing check-in system — You set the check-in frequency (recommended every 3 months). After missed prompts, your primary nominee is contacted weekly for five weeks before data is released. No premature disclosure.
- Nominee management — Add unlimited nominees (family, executors, trustees, solicitors). Designate one primary nominee as the single point of contact.
- No bank credentials stored — You record provider names and optional account numbers/values. No Open Banking, no API connections, no way for SuccessionKeeper to move money.
- Document vault — Upload supporting files (wills, deeds, policy documents) alongside each asset entry.
- Flexible detail levels — Include as little as a provider name or as much as full account numbers, values, and notes. Nothing is mandatory.
- Download or delete anytime — Cancel in one click, export all data, or permanently delete your vault.
Who is it for?
- Anyone with financial accounts or pensions who wants their family to avoid spending months hunting for lost accounts — especially those with multiple banks, pension pots, or investment holdings.
- Estate executors and will-makers who need a living directory that sits alongside a will: the will says who inherits, SuccessionKeeper says where to find the assets.
- People worried about sudden illness or accident — the service covers strokes, hospital stays, or long illnesses, not just death.
- Couples or families sharing financial responsibility where one partner handles the paperwork and the other would be lost without a map.
What can you do with SuccessionKeeper?
- Create a complete asset inventory: List every bank account, pension, ISA, property, crypto wallet, life insurance policy, and business interest in one encrypted vault. Account numbers and values are optional.
- Set up a living notification system: Configure how often you check in (every 1–12 months). If you miss two consecutive check-ins, your primary nominee starts receiving weekly alerts. After five weeks of contact attempts and no response from you, the vault contents are released.
- Share secure access after an event: Your nominees receive a structured summary — provider names, account types, and any notes you chose to share — giving them a clear starting point for probate or claiming benefits. They never see login credentials.
