Magic Layers is an AI tool that separates one flat PNG or JPEG into editable layers. It finds the text, subject, decorations, and background inside your image and gives each one back as a named transparent PNG you can download and edit.
What is Magic Layers?
Magic Layers is an AI-powered image processing tool that automatically separates a single flat PNG or JPEG image into its individual visual elements. It takes one image as input and produces a base image plus multiple transparent PNG layers, each with a name, description, and position information. The tool works entirely from pixel analysis, so it can process images even when the original project files are unavailable.
Key Features
- Named layers — Every separated element receives a descriptive label like "Gold circle" or "Headline" so you know what each file contains before opening it.
- Transparent PNG output — Each layer comes back as a PNG with a clean alpha channel, ready for use in Photoshop, Figma, Canva, slide decks, or game engines.
- Position tracking — Each layer keeps its detected position and stacking order from the original image, with clickable highlighting to show where it sits.
- Customizable separation — You can describe what to separate (e.g., "all people" or "the clothes") and choose a target count from 2 to 15 images per job.
- Private processing — Uploaded source images remain private and are kept for only 7 days.
- Automatic resizing — Larger images are automatically downscaled to fit within the 10 MB upload limit.
Who is it for?
- Marketing designers — Split finished campaign visuals into background, headline, product, and badges to test new copy and layouts without hunting for lost source files.
- Social media managers — Recompose one thumbnail for vertical stories, square posts, and wide video covers instead of manually masking subjects.
- Presentation creators — Pull charts, icons, labels, and shapes out of flat slide screenshots to rebuild clean, editable compositions.
- Game and UI prototypers — Turn flattened concept art and interface mockups into separate characters, panels, and props for parallax scenes and clickable prototypes.
What can you do with Magic Layers?
- Marketing creative variations: Split a finished campaign visual into background, headline, product, and badges, then test new copy and layouts.
- E-commerce imagery: Separate the product, price label, and background surface so you can restage a shot for a new placement or marketplace.
- Studying a design: Step through the layers of a visual to understand how it is built, useful for learning composition and planning original versions.
How does Magic Layers work?
Upload a PNG or JPEG up to 10 MB (minimum 512×512 px), optionally describe what to separate, and choose how many images you want back (2–15). The AI analyzes the pixels to identify major elements, then returns a base image plus named transparent PNG layers with position data. You are billed per image actually returned, and refused images are never charged.
