    About this product

Explore the world's largest library of film stills for inspiration, learning, and making movies faster.

FrameThrower is a film-still reference library built for people who work in film and advertising. Every frame of thousands of films is indexed by what it actually looks like — lighting key, lens character, shot size, colour grade, time of day, who is in the shot — so you can search the way you'd describe a shot out loud instead of guessing at keywords.

Search "a lone figure in neon rain" and get frames that look like that, not frames tagged with those words. Save what you find to a lookbook, export it as a PDF, or pull the whole board down as a zip.

It's also an API. Eleven REST endpoints, an MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT, an npm SDK, and a ComfyUI node that drops a frame straight onto your canvas with a ready-made depth map. Builders use it to give agents and image pipelines real cinematographic reference instead of scraped screenshots.

Built by senior filmmakers and ads creatives — people who have shot, cut and pitched for a living.
