    About this product

BudgetSheet is a Google Sheets add-on that imports live bank transactions, balances, and investment data from over 10,000 U.S. and Canadian financial institutions via Plaid, replacing manual CSV exports and copy-paste.

    What is BudgetSheet?

BudgetSheet is a Google Sheets add-on that pulls bank transactions, account balances, and investment holdings directly into your spreadsheet. It connects to checking, savings, credit card, investment, loan, and mortgage accounts through Plaid, a trusted financial data provider. The add-on is developed by Vance Lucas of Infinite Rectangles and is available from the Google Workspace Marketplace.

    Key Features

    • Automated transaction imports — Fetches transactions nightly from all linked bank accounts, credit cards, and investment accounts, writing them directly into your Google Sheet.
    • Balance tracking — Displays live account balances (checking, savings, credit cards, etc.) inside your spreadsheet, updated with each data pull.
    • Investment tracking — Imports holdings, balances, and transactions from brokerage accounts (Pro and Business plans) for a complete net worth view.
    • Customizable budgeting — Your data lands in a plain Google Sheet; use any formula, pivot table, or chart you like. Optional budget templates are provided but not enforced.
    • Plaid-powered security — BudgetSheet never sees your bank username or password. It stores only an encrypted, read-only access token needed to fetch data. All transaction data is written to your spreadsheet – BudgetSheet does not store transactions in its own database.
    • Multi-account support — Link up to 5 (Basic), 30 (Pro), or 100 (Business) accounts across different financial institutions.

    Who is it for?

    • Personal budgeters who want full control over their budget layout in Google Sheets instead of a closed app like Mint.
    • Small business owners and bookkeepers who need live bank data in a spreadsheet for expense tracking, reconciliation, or reporting (Business plan supports 100+ accounts).
    • Spreadsheet power users who combine imported bank data with custom scripts, pivot tables, or Zapier automations.
    • Mint users seeking an alternative after Mint shut down; BudgetSheet offers a similar data import but puts all data in the user’s own Google Sheet.

What can you do with BudgetSheet?

    • Build a custom budget dashboard: Import live transactions and balances, then create your own charts and spending categories using Google Sheets formulas.
    • Automate weekly expense reports: Schedule nightly fetches (via autofetch) so your spreadsheet always has the latest data, then share it with a team or accountant.
    • Track net worth across accounts: Link checking, savings, credit cards, and investment accounts in one sheet, then calculate total assets minus liabilities with simple formulas.

    How does BudgetSheet work?

After installing the add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace, open any Google Sheet and run Extensions > BudgetSheet > Setup Everything. Then link bank accounts through Extensions > BudgetSheet > Link New Account..., which launches a Plaid authorization flow. To import data, use Extensions > BudgetSheet > Fetch Latest Bank Transactions. You can also enable Autofetch to automatically pull new transactions every night. Full setup instructions are in the documentation.

    Pricing

BudgetSheet offers a 15-day free trial (no credit card required) with one bank account. Paid plans are: Basic – $59/year (up to 5 accounts); Pro – $79/year (up to 30 accounts, includes investment tracking); Business – $149/year (up to 100 accounts, includes investment tracking). All prices are in USD. After trial, upgrade from the add-on menu.
